Indulgences (Sun 1.28)
This week was all about books, movies, shows and food (I know, groundbreaking).
On Tuesday there was a scheduled electrical outage in my neighborhood. I needed wifi, so I went to Makara to work. I was given a copy of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein for the library's Frankenread 2018 initiative along with a free notebook (I love notebooks). Took it home, and since there was still no power in my hood I read Frankenstein with candles and a flashlight. Spooky good fun.
Finally got my bf to watch A Good Year with me. Not that he was resisting, it's just that my DVD copy was scratched and I just got a new one. I love to watch the movies I love with the man I love. Even though he hates most of the romantic comedies I force on him.
For whatever reason, I was being called to re-watch Merlin on Netflix. It's a totally cheesy family-friendly show about how young Merlin the wizard and young King Arthur become friends and develop their greatness together. Oh yeah and Guinevere is played by a brown woman and Lancelot is the brown cutie who played Isaac in Heroes. I'm drawn to its wholesomeness at the moment. Reminds me of watching TV after school.
Got to see Molly (!) on Thursday. The ramen place we picked was packed so we just went to Ootoro Sushi next to it, without realizing how fancy/delicious this place was. We had the best seared salmon there. I feel like I'm spoiled now and can't settle for anything less than that amazing salmon. But we wanted to chow on more without spending more, so we hit up the food court a few doors down and got brussel sprouts. Yeah, I chow down on brussel sprouts.
Until next week!
